Welcome to Episode 74: Today’s episode is part 1 of 2, and I’m speaking with the very intentional Dr. Yishai Barkhordari, clinical psychologist, podcast host and entrepreneur extraordinaire.
In part 1, Yishai shares how he grew his practice, and how he focuses on the “IN” part of his therapy business.
Yishai took us through some of his thought process about how he listens to his patients for ways to better serve them, improve their therapy experience, and for patterns in their language that inform him in how to best serve them.
Yishai used multiple avenues to attract clients when he first started his practice, and has ultimately streamlined which services he uses, as he learned which ones bring his most ideal clients.
You won’t want to miss how he shows his patients them what he does, shares his expertise, AND if he’s not a fit, he helps people find a different therapist.
Stay tuned for part 2 where Yishai and I talk high-level strategic thinking - working ON his business.
So, I invite you to listen today and take note of the intentional way in which Yishai approaches his therapy business. You know what to do: grab a beverage or a snack and settle-in to listen to Yishai and his amazing journey.

EP 73: How to Market Without Monopolizing Your Time With Justin Knott
Wednesday Sep 28, 2022
Wednesday Sep 28, 2022
It’s always fun talking with marketing experts, because if they’re good at what they do, they can explain how things work in simple, digestible ways, and if they’re excellent at what they do, they’ll help you understand the realities of marketing, set realistic expectations, and they’ll partner with you to achieve your goals and objectives.
This is exactly what I learned about today’s guest. I’m thrilled to have spent time speaking with the high-integrity, extremely smart marketing genius, Justin Knott of Intrepy Healthcare Marketing.
We discussed top SEO strategies to get your practice ranking for the procedures you want to grow, or conditions you treat. He gave a great tip about multiple-location practices and their SEO: structure your website after the franchise model with separate websites for each location.
We also talked about one of my favorite topics, which is how to avoid monopolizing the physician or practitioner’s time. Fair warning, though, you’re not off the hook for the role you need to play in the marketing of your practice. Fortunately, however, if you’re willing to focus and make time for regular strategy sessions, you can get away with 30-60 minutes of content creation per session. Not bad, particularly if you were to calculate the financial impact of creating even one new patient.
There are so many golden nuggets in our conversation, and Justin’s parting wisdom is this:
- Trust the process; it takes time.
- Invest what you can, bootstrap if you need
- Set reasonable expectations for what you want your marketing strategy and tactics to achieve
I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation and I’m certain you will too, so, grab a beverage or a snack, or lace up your walking shoes, and settle-in to listen to Justin and his incredible wisdom.

EP 72: Protecting Your Practice With an 831(b) entity with Clay Ogden
Wednesday Sep 21, 2022
Wednesday Sep 21, 2022
Clay Ogden of Strategic Risk Alternatives 831(b) joins us today to talk Risk Management.
Clay shares a lot of great information about how practice owners can use excess revenues and profits to protect themselves and their business against unforeseen and uninsurable circumstances through investing in their own 831(b) entity.
Clay gave several examples of how protecting and increasing the efficiency of your business would be beneficial. Mainly, though, Clay shares that their clients say they’re able to sleep better at night knowing they have a nice cushion to land on in the event of unforeseen circumstances, such as elective procedures being delayed for over 2 years during a global pandemic, or temporary or permanent loss of a key employee, or any other event not covered by insurance.
This is an excellent planning tool with your CPA, financial advisor, or other advisor, and could be a great way to create perhaps a tax break, but more importantly, to protect yourself and your practice against the unknown.
I thought it was very interesting that these funds could be used in various ways that could also be beneficial to your practice. Give it a listen and find out for yourself.
Clay’s parting wisdom is:
- Learn more about 831(b) and other options that could prove to be beneficial, in terms of protection and in terms of leveling-off your cash flows year over year.
This conversation is very enlightening, and Clay explains in clear terms how this could be a great business tool for your practice. So, grab a beverage or a snack and settle-in to listen to Clay and learn about 831(b) entities.

Clay could easily be described as the ace of the SRA Team. You won’t want to miss when they dive deep into the challenges and loneliness of being a CEO and founder, how to combat the fear of letting go of control, and my personal favorite part of the interview, which is to make sure to create our own purpose and value outside of our work. This is a favorite, and probably one of the most challenging parts of being a business founder and owner.
Megan and Rebecca are hosting a retreat for women change makers in Uganda from February 23 - March 4, 2023, and if you identify as female and you’re in need of a change, reset, adventure, challenge and a supportive, high-powered community, then I strongly encourage you to check out their website, as space is limited. Listen carefully to how Purdeep has woven his holistic mindset to all areas of his business and life. I am particularly fond of the Seik wisdom he embraces, which says that being complete means that you’re growing.

EP 67: Building Multiple Successful Businesses From the Ground Up with Melissa Ng
Wednesday Aug 24, 2022
Wednesday Aug 24, 2022
Thanks for tuning-in again for a new episode of Entrepreneur Mindset-Reset, THE podcast where entrepreneurs just like you and me learn how to take back our time and scale our businesses.
Before we dive in to today’s episode, I want to take a moment to remind you that we believe that Black Lives Matter, Love is Love, no human is illegal, women’s rights are human rights, access to healthcare ought to be a basic human right regardless of employment or wealth status, and that if one person is not free, none of us are free. During these turbulent and uncertain times, we believe strongly that reconnecting with our own humanity will help smooth the edges of these tumultuous times. Be sure to be kind to yourself and to others; you never know what someone is going through.
Let’s talk about today’s episode. I’m speaking with Melissa Ng, a multi-passionate founder of multiple successful companies and Co-Founder & Business Strategist, and Facebook Ads Expert at Launchers Academy.
Melissa tells us that our best bet is always to start with the data, no matter what industry we’re in. She highly recommends checking Google Trends to see where the volume of searches is, and that will help us understand where to put our efforts.
Something I didn’t expect to hear about an E-commerce teaching platform is that Launchers Academy have their students create vision boards and to get super clear on their big WHY before going headlong into their new business. That sounds like excellent coaching, if you ask me.
She shares so much, and I’m certain if you’re interested in creating a new source of income, you’ll want to take notes. Even if e-commerce isn’t your thing, Melissa drops so much mindset wisdom, so take notes anyway.
Her parting wisdom is:
- Collect and analyze data
- Test early and often
- Hire a really good team
- You’ll hustle to get to your first 6 figures, and then after that it’s all about duplicating and making small adjustments.
I hope you enjoy this interview with Melissa as much as I did. There’s so much to learn here. So, grab a beverage or a snack and settle-in to listen to Melissa and her amazing journey.
Melissa’s Bio:
Melissa has always been multi-passionate and interested in many different areas of business growing up. With eyes set on a path in business, Melissa completed her Bachelor of Commerce at the University of British Columbia and completed her Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation. She started her career working in Finance, specifically in Mergers & Acquisitions and quickly moved up the corporate ladder as a Corporate Development Manager. After 3 years in the Corporate world, she felt like something was missing and quit Finance to pursue her passion in Digital Marketing. At the same time, she jump started her journey into entrepreneurship. Since then, she has built 3 businesses- a Strategic Design Agency, running multiple eCommerce stores, and an eCommerce Mentorship Agency. Her greatest fulfillment comes from building things from the ground up, and making a strong impact on her community and helping people reach their financial goals.
