Episode 38: Why Time Management Doesn’t Work with Tracy Cherpeski
Tuesday Dec 21, 2021
Tuesday Dec 21, 2021
Thank you for joining us today for a new episode of Entrepreneur Mindset-Reset.
This episode I’m sharing my own wisdom, and I believe it’ll be valuable to you, in particular if you’re struggling with time management, getting stuff done, and feeling overwhelmed or like time is NOT on your side. I’m sure you’ve experienced the rushed, never have time to do what you really want to do, always have unfinished tasks, and feeling like your business might swallow you whole, feeling. Most of us have been there.
You may have read articles, attended workshops or masterclasses and even purchased time management software or apps, and STILL can’t find the time to do the important tasks, or carve out time for yourself.
If you’re feeling the following:
- Overworked.
- Becoming disillusioned with being in business for yourself and are considering going back to work for a different organization (the VERY THING you left due to burnout and other frustrations!) Listen to episode 9 for more on burnout.
- You’re not experiencing the time and financial freedom you envisioned when you started your business.
Then you’re in the right place today. Here’s why “Time Management” doesn’t work, and what you can do about it.
Time management implies control and getting more stuff done. Time Leadership, which is what I’m talking about today, implies directing your attention and focus toward the activities that contribute positively to the bottom line of your business, and which bring you a sense of joy and accomplishment.
Time Leadership is wrapped around 3 pillars:
- Discovery - ask yourself: “What do I really want?”
- Analysis - how much do you cost your business, and how much money are you leaving on the table by doing things better suited to other team members, or outsourced?
- (Inspired) Action - once you’re clear, ask yourself what the next best step is. What can you accomplish right now that contributes positively to the bottom line or growth of your business?
Make sure to answer these questions, and it’ll start to become very clear where best to direct your energy and efforts in your business.
Please be sure to subscribe and leave us a rating and review so more entrepreneurs like you and me can find us and learn together.
