The healthcare industry is facing a major burnout crisis, with high levels of stress and overwhelm. The negative stigma around mental health keeps a lot of providers from seeking professional help with the mental and emotional stress they experience.

- Female physicians, in particular, experience higher rates of burnout.
- The fear of stigma and potential professional consequences prevents many physicians from seeking mental health treatment.
- Physician burnout has significant financial costs, over US$6 Billion, including recruitment and replacement expenses, and there is projected to be a shortage of 122,000 physicians by 2032.
- Work-life integration, regulatory and insurance requirements, and other factors contribute to overwhelm and burnout among healthcare providers.
